Hell No! That was for mere compromise for space. Trust me, if there is space for a 30R it will be a 30R.

Hopefully by the end of the month will find out if there's room for a gt/gtx30r

I heard from somebody at Scion (I work for Toyota) that because of the super high compression of the motor, that it would be tough and really bad on the motor and wear on it bad! I know a little bit about forced induction, but not much, I'm no gearhead by any means! It seems as though a SC would be easier on the motor than a TC? I dont plan on tracking my car, just want to add some extra HP. Feedback?

A SC would be safer because there is little chance of over-boosting compared to a turbo. Sadly the FA20 is a terrible candidate for any form of FI with it's 12.5:1 CR. Even worse, the FA20 is so efficient already that there is very little untapped potential to be gained via IHE.

You consider a 30hp gain from an exhaust to be little?

Did you post your thoughts here as well?

ScionFred doesn't like the FRS lol.

This is Accelerated performance prototype turbo kit. Anyway. It's too soon for people to say what this engine can handle and can not handle. I remember when people said the tC1 and the S2000 couldn't handle boost. Look at them now. Fres86 I think you should wait a little longer and get more info before you make your final judgement.

that turbo does not look like it would be fun to install.

It looks relatively easy if you ask me. But funny how there are prototype boost already on the car, and people swearing up and down it's not going to be a candidate for F/I, just because of it's compression.

High compression doesn't mean it won't handle boost. Just means it will be less boost ran on it.

I consider a 30hp gain from an exhaust to be very unlikely and hard to believe. That sounds like the aftermarket manufacturer's claim.

No, should I? I never said that the stock 12.5:1 FA20 can't be boosted.

They should just put a straw on that turbo to suck up water. Definitely not designed for the dd in mind.

They will pro ably fab some kind of shield and rout the intake up. That turbo is just super exposed to the elements. And I dunno about you trav but my GTX isn't getting exposed like that.

Got a link to this independent 3rd party dyno sheet? Or is it like your low-14 second 1/4 mile FRS link?
