Default AC refrigerent pressure switch part number

Can someone with a 2008 tC verify the part number of the air conditioner refrigerant pressure switch. Mine is kind of worn and I cant see all the numbers. attachment shows location. Part number should be on the side.

Cant find just this switch on Toyota part sites, have to buy the whole liquid line which I am trying to avoid. Thought I could search for the denso part number and get lucky.

I recall someone looking for this a while back as well. I'm not sure that they sell the switch alone without the hard line, as I was trying to find it for them. Have you tried a local pull-a-part/junkyard perhaps?

Yea, I could only find it with the line, but that was using the line part number from the scion part microfiche. If the switch part number is 443440-0050, which I suspect it is but would like verification, it is available new or used as a separate part.

Haven't physically checked you pull its, but have seen used parts websites that only sell the entire line.

You still have your tC? Can you verify the part number, probably did not change between 2006 - 2008. Thanks

I do. I'll try, but I have a feeling the turbo and wastegate are gonna be in the way. Also, it's so damn dark here already. Might have to wait until the weekend to get some daylight (Don't have a lighted garage)

It comes with the line. Part # is 88710-21180. It is the same line from 2004 thru 2010.

I think he knows that. He's just trying to see if it can be replaced by itself, as it's much cheaper. It does appear to be an off the shelf Denso part, but it's not sold by Toyota that way.

Cool Thanks. Yea, the switch alone can be had on ebay, new for about $38.00.

Turns out though it wasn't the switch, rather low pressure behind it. Glad I checked that before breaking into the system. Must be a very small leak cause there was pressure, but just below what is required to activate the switch. About 3-4 seconds after putting in the Freon the switch activated and the clutch engaged and VOILA!!!

The refrigerant had a stop leak in it so hopefully that will take care of it. If not I'll deal with that later.

Thanks Guys for the info and pics. Keep Calm and Stay Cool!!!

FYI,
Think I found the leak. At the Schrader valve for the low pressure port. Noticed that each time I take the cap off there is a slight sound of escaping gas. Must build up when the cap is on, and is released when removed. Probably leaking past the cap when the system is operating for some time like long road trips.

Apparently the stop leak didn't touch this, so sometime down the road I will have to bite the bullet and have another one installed, then the whole system will have to be serviced and a new dryer installed. Sounds like mucho dinero that I don't want to part with at this time. Ce la Vie !!!
