Check Engine Light car Die after 4000 rpm
#2
does the car have a rough idle? how long did you wet the engine with water???? take it to your local autozone and have them run the diagnostics on the car to see what code its throwing. to me, it sounds like the MAF sensor might have gotten dirty/damaged. you can clean it out with a MAF spray cleaner they sell there too. might want to do that as well. if the MAF is bad after cleaning, then it would need to be replaced and its not that cheap either. hope its something simple and not expensive...GL with fixing your problem...
