Default tune up for $80 at the dealership

its just changing spark plugs right?

ill do it myself.

im at 55k and never done a tune up but i think its time. i hear clicking sounds from the engine. maybe thats just the pistons running i dont know.

$80 is too much to charge for just changing the spark plugs (if thats all a tune up is)

what tools do i need and what spark plugs do you guys recommend?

80 bucks for plug change isn't bad.. Not for the dealer to do.. Though i don't trust anyone working on my cars other than myself.. But if you aren't familiar with cars, i would just bring it somewhere..

The correct plugs on these cars will run you about 25-35 bucks for the plugs, plus the cost of the socket.. if you don't have the correct socket to do the job.

Keep in mind..
1. The wires need to go back on the new plugs exactly the same as you took them off.
2. Even though Plugs say they are pre-gapped, check again, as most of the time they are slightly off...
3. Make sure the car is cool before you try to remove them, aluminum expands when it's hot, and can cause the plug to snap when you try to remove it..
4. Torque the plugs down to the correct spec when putting them back into the car.
