Block Guard, Do I really need this ?
I already search through forums and goolge about this thing but still not get a quite clear answer. Some people said not neccessary but some said must have this.
I got a forged internal and my goal is 300-320WHP. I'm daily driver, So do I need this thing? Do anyone ran around 300WHP without it? or with it? Please share your experience and info.
Thanks

You definitely do not need a "block guard" or sleeves for that power level. Forged internals will be more than enough. Many have run 300whp even on stock internals, although I think that's kinda pushing the limits. Better spend that money on good tuning options, ideally, a standalone engine management system and proper fueling.

Yes. The side effect of using them is that they impede coolant flow, and will in turn reduce cooling performance. This is probably not a good thing as the 2AZFE is already known to pull out the threads from the block that attach to the middle head bolts if it is allowed to overheat.
