Default good engine management with vvti contol?

just looking for some people to point out decent to good engine management.

who has what? etc etc and see people opinions.

i need this because i ran out of tuning room on my aem fic. and since i converted my tc to AWD, and i built my engine, etc, etc... i need something that is a lot more feature friendly and has a lot more tune-ability especially in the software.. i would love suggestions on platforms that have really good resolution in the maps..etc etc.

thanks ahead of time.

thanks for the link but honestly im trying to weigh options and not just have
something put in front of my face. i can find this aem ems used locally for
800 dollars? what makes yours so special besides the pnp harness.

also is it better than megasquirt, Vems, Haltech etc and if so why?

megasquirt can do most of the above except drive by wire?
and vvti tuning.

500 bucks

VEMS can handle vvti tuning, drive by wire controls. and has
an app and cable that allow you to use any android phone or tablet as a
seperate guage setup in real time AIT, SPEEDO, VE TUNING, TIMING
ADVANCE, ETC.

700bucks

not bashing just i would like real info and experiences from
people. and if you can give me a legitimate reason to go for the aem besides
you made it relatively moron proof than feel free to add to this.

I will say that AEM does not make this application and we engineered this solution in house back in 2007-ish. It was used for 6 seasons on 2 different Time Attack programs under Scion backed DG Spec team. It was also used by 3 grass roots race teams as well on top of just about EVERY high HP tC you see on this forum (with the exception of 2-3) have used our setup on their ride.

It allows for full fuel, full ignition, full VVT control out of the box. It offers plenty of more options as well, but most people do not even use 60% of what the unit is capable of.

The V2 software also allows integration of flex fuel as well, which makes switches between say E85 and gasoline to be virtually seamless (if calibrated to your setup correctly by your tuner).

We offer a complete (as bolt on as a standalone can be) solution that is tried and proven. It's your money, spend it how you like. My recommendation is the AEM because it has a HUGE global tuner base with vast support, you don't have to reinvent the wheel or troubleshoot stuff on your own (when you pilot an EMS that nobody has used on the application). You have our support as well being as that you had purchased it from us. So we can provide insight and suggestions on how to facilitate stuff and make it better. Do what you want, but I am telling you if you want to reinvent the wheel, be my guest. We did all of the hard work for you with this.

Edit: Also what makes our so special is that we start with an off-the-shelf AEM box, rip it open, modify it internally & reassemble it. Then we build a custom wiring harness to make your life of install about 20 mintues. We then created you a start up cal to get you going in the right direction as well. We provide it all in our cost sir.

that all sounds good, seems like there's not a lot of technical knowledge on here save some of you sales guys. i still feel its worth weighing options though..

ill keep this in mind. thanks for your time.

You should weigh your options. I encourage it. You need to see value in your investment. I understand. More critically important is that you go with whatever your tuner feels comfortable with EMS wise.

I am not quite sure I understand your bolded comment.

like any forum there are a lot of talkers but no real info.. your post on the other hand was informative and appreciated. so this is what i meant.. even during my awd conversion i found nothing worthwhile to go on.. so ended up doing all of the work and homework on my own including buying stuff like a transmission just to see if it would work.. glad it did, but it was worth it in the end..

anyways thanks again paul

That clarifies it.

I am a techy guy, so when you ask tech with me, you get it. Sometimes it's even more than what you wanted...LOL

No problem. Let me know if I can aid in any other way.

Don't know how much power your looking for but I made over 550 with a 6262 at 26psi 8k revlimit and no vvti at all with a Haltech platinum sport 1000. And anything over that with out a transmission is going to break 3rd and 4th easy might get u a few pulls at 550.

my transmission is from a gt-four, so im not sure. but im not building an awd car to drag race so i think its ok.

and you cant tune vvti with the aem fic.. but the haltech systems aren't bad but honestly its about even price wise with the dezod aem stuff which works great as is..
