Default Airbag fault code B1000/ 31 "Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction"

I just bought a used 06 TC and it has the SRS light on and jumping DLC pins 4 and 13 shows a code 31 "Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction". The pinpoint test for this code essentially is to just replace the ecu. Is this a common issue? Am I missing something? I rarely believe in ecu's just going bad.
Thanks so much!

You have what is called a yaw sensor and a very sensitive mercury filled device forgot what it's called. in the middle of the car in your dash. If that is malfunctioning you will get that code. You will have to take apart the entire dash to replace it. You will see a thick yellow wire running to it. Just like what's under your seat or in your steering wheel. Disconnect your battery and wait 30 minutes for the airbag system to discharge before working on the system. Hope this helps.
