Default New Resistors or not? LED swap in the Gauge Cluster

Quick question, I am about to swap white LED's into my OEM Gauge cluster and was wondering if I need to change the resistors in them as well? Some DIY's say just swap the LEDs with PLCC2's and it'll be fine but some say you need to change the resistors as well?

Agreed, not needed. The swap of the resistors will increase the intensity of the light, but it really isn't necessary.

Not needed to swap to red. Not really needed if swapping to green/blue/white.

I swapped resistors with my white leds. I have the gauges set to 1/3 of the total available brightness.
