Windows, HVAC, Turns not working...Nothing blown...then work
I have been hooking up my new system. I blew a fuse and replaced it. Everything worked fine. I go to get in and go somwhere, and My power windows dont work, my HVAC (heat, AC, fan) doesnt work, and my turn signals dont work. Everything else works including sunroof, power locks, dash, clock, cig lighter. horn and all.Checked all my fuses and they are good.
I take it straight to the dealer, they had a guy look at it in the lot. Checked all the fuses and has no clue. He told me to tell them to put it in the shop. The guy at the desk said drop it off tomorrow and they would figure it out at no cost.
I said thanks, go outside get in, and EVERYTHING WORKS!! They said they can only fix something that is broken so if it happens again bring it in.

If a fuse, relay, or fusible link is bad, they are cooked and won't come back on. They need to be replaced. Maybe it's a broken wire that is making an intermittent connection?
This is an ignition switch issue. This is why everything stopped working all at once. The reason for it coming back on is the relay in the ignition can usually short, but then come back. Had the exact same thing happen in my previous Audi.
Broke, lost everything, came back a couple of time then that was finally it. Replaced, (melted shorted part) and everything worked again. Check it out. I bet you this is the issue.
Whats weird is the things that went out, aren't on the same fuse, that I know of. And if its a wire, those are odd things to run the same wire. Turn signals, windows, and HVAC in one wire.

Not everything runs into the ignition. Look at it this way, the ignition is one of the few places that you can get a 12v ACC current without a rocker switch switch, instead just a turn of a key. So wipers, HVAC, radio, by turning the key all turn on, along w/ the turn signals.
Now each car is different in its wiring methods, but that is what the ignition switch is for, and the relay carries a greater load to handle this. I assure you that if it happens again, that you are going to have to replace it. Cheap part but difficult to get at and replace on most vehicles.
Haven't done a Scion yet, but you can imagine Audi's!
I had the same issue with my tC when I put my new radio in it.. the driver window would work one time and the pass not and later the pass would and driver wouldn't.
What I did was took my radio out made sure all the wires had a good connection and put it back together.
Haven't had any issues since.

Problem solved. 10amp gauge Fuse under the dash made all that trouble.
Ironic, given the label I figured it would only take out the cluster. Instead it took out everything not related to the cluster. Also I know now how this was caused.
My aftermarket fog lights fuse housing somehow ended up having an exposed wire which touched metal in the engine bay. Normally in this situation the fuse to the fog lights would blow.
Instead It blew up with enough heat to melt and fuse itself back together allowing the fuse to now hold more amperage and now carrying the current to the next weakest link in the circuit
which was one of my fog light bulbs and and also the fuse the made all the trouble with other accessories.
Any luck I can't figure it out turn signals backup lights hvac no power at all just clock works none of the bottons work at all cig lighter and Windows! Please help! Is getting cold out and the dang heater don't work

I know this thread is fairly old, but the problem was never really “solved.” The 10a fuse that I found was blown when my turn signal/ reverse light / gauge gear lights were not working was the 10A Gauge fuse. Try replacing that.

I didn't get a good enough answer out of all this. I don't know a lot about any of this but, it's just me and I have to figure this out with no help but from you guys.
Sorry I took forever to reply, after all this time I never got a notification that this thread was still going on until now. I don't have my tC anymore, I now have an FR-S with a tC engine that is turbo charged.
But anyway, here is a picture of the fuse box and to the best of my memory it was the 10 amp gauge fuse is what the problem was when I had the issue. If that does not solve your problem change the 10 amp A/C fuse.
