Question *Need help* Brake lights don't work. Replacing stop light switch. Has anyone done?

Went to get the inspection sticker but failed bc the brake lights dont light up...all 3 lights.

-Pulled the fuse and its still good.
-Brake light bulbs work when the parking lights are turned on...very unlikely all 3 lights went out and the 2 main lights have bad filaments...so that narrows it down to the stop switch.

-Replacing the switch is just an unplug/replug job.

The issue is thats in an awkward place and I can only get 1 hand under the dash and not having success even unplugging it.

Wondering if anyone here could help before i spend 100+ on a 10 minute job.

Well check the switch. If it's a simple switch with 2 wires, you can short them and see if the brake lights come on. If that does nothing, then the other possibility is a faulty brake light relay. The parking light is a separate circuit from the brake lights.
