Remove the knee/kick panel under the glove box and there should only be three phillips head screws holding the blower fan in place and the electrical connector.
I don't think you have to remove the glove box, but if you really want to....push the side clips in from the outside of the box and pull the glove box off the hinge points.
I had to do this a few years ago when some "debris" got caught in the fan, so I'm going purely from memory. A Google image search of "scion tc blower fan" should get you pretty close as far as screw placement.

It would be easier just to take out the glove box (if you haven't done so already). I had to take the glove box out to replaced the carbon filter. You're right Ropes... that's the same method I did to take the glove out.
