Default Help: Loud Engine Noise. (LINK)

My car is making this noise or similar. Its a loud whine that changes when you give it gas while idling or while driving. Test drive seemed fine other then this engine whine.

06 scion tc with 168K, Some kind of belt? water pump?

I drove to Malibu and back yesterday and no issues. Went to startup today and this issue occurred.

Thanks in advance.

Remove the serpentine belt, rev it, and see if the noise is still there (since the water pump wont be turning, make sure you dont overheat)

If the noise goes away without the belt, you know its one of the other pulleys

X2 for what mc1114 said.

It is definitely one of the pulleys making that nosie. Take off the drivebelt (serpentine belt) and spin the pulleys by hand and listen very carefully. Also you could use a mechanic's stethoscope, I got mine from harbor freight for $3. That would help you pinpoint which is making the noise.
