Not so cold AC for a few weeks, and then one day my HVAC fan doesn't blow at all
Hey, guys and gals, hopefully you can save me from the heat this summer. I'm losing my cool.
A few weeks ago, my AC stopped working so well. In the heat, it wasn't making any difference at all. At night when it's cold, I can feel that it was blowing cold air. I figured it just needed a refrigerant recharge, and would get to it eventually, as I have a lot going on in my life right now.
Then one day this week I started my car to go to work, and the fan for the heat/cooling didn't turn on at all. No matter what the setting on the fan control unit, even on high.
I checked the 40 amp fuse under the hood and it's OK, when I turn the fan on to anything but off, I can hear the relay near my knee click on. And when I turn it off, it clicks off after a second. I can turn the hot/cold dial and I can hear something happening.
But I can't get any air to blow!
What's wrong? Is it the blower motor? I hear those are a bit tricky to change out, behind the glove box after a like $50 part.
Help! :
