Default OBD II Code PO445 - Evaporative Emission Control System

Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted... What is this and how do I fix this before I get my State Inspection done... Can I do it myself? Please advise...

I think I got same kind the problem with it , My check engine light on , I use OBDII scan found the same error code PO445 , But I use scan tool erase that code , engine light off

did you recently add any components to your car? check all connections to your intake tubes/vac lines. Last time I saw that error was on my friend's Jetta 1.8T and he had to replace his MAF sensor. different car, I know, but it's a suggestion.

well, usually an EVAP code means you forgot to tighten your gas cap call the way.

now if it says something shorted, maybe that means you blew a circuit.

but also, unless it was caused by something you did to the car, it should be covered under warranty if you are still under your mileage limitation.

Thanks for the intel... I figured the gas cap issue but that had to be way too easy... But I was told at work it takes like 8-10 driving cycles to remove code. I will erase with the OBDII device and see if that did the trick. 'preciate

meh, i just disconnected my battary to clean the CEL. do'nt need fancy tools.

i also kinda figured that the stupid leash on the fuel door lid was unscrewing the gas cap as i closed it, so i cut it off. probably went away.
