Scion tC 2006 Chirping noise when idle
I need help. My tC has 118500 miles on it and has been idling at a lower RPM for a while. I've been dealing with this chirping/squealing noise when I'm at stop lights idling for a while. I've gotten the alternator, water pump, and drive belt replaced and it's still making the noise. It's not as loud or as frequent at this point but it's still happening. I'm starting to get very frustrated. I love my car and just want it to run properly. Any advice is welcome!

when your drive belt was replaced, did you by any chance clean your pulleys
? with those many miles, debris tends to build up between vvvvv shape pulleys. noise will shortly return after a replacing drive belt if pulley are contaminated, or it could also be a weak tensioner..

I had a chirping noise that came about in idle as well. Funny thing is, it only happens when the weather gets cold. Now that warm weather has arrived, it has completely gone away. Very strange.
Mine came from the dash though, so I still have to pull it apart and see if it's the blower fan like someone mentioned in the post I made. If not, then it has to be something similar to what mc114 posted. I need to buy a new jack before I can checkout the later option.

its moisture that builds up on your pulleys, creating a slippery surface. and creates chirping noise, its similar to when your walking in a wet surface with your shoes.
