Default sputtering????

I just got my 06 tC. it has about 300 miles on it....my main concern is that when it's idling, it makes some sort of sputtering noise...is this normal for a new tc?

Ummm, i don't think a sputtering noise in any new car is normal. But you might have to describe sputtering a little better, like a put put noise? or is it a missfire kinda sound at idle like it wants to turn off?

If anything take it back right away!

I've heard this too, also when my car was around 300 miles -- it would come and go. I'm up to 600 now and haven't checked recently. I think it's probably the two stage muffler being a little leaky sometimes. Also, this engine doesn't have the smoothest 4cyl idle I've ever felt -- though it's not bad for a 4cyl.

I was wondering if there was a problem when I first bought the car (idle vibration), but I tried out two other tCs on the dealer's lot and they all had some vibration to them.

Let it get broken in and see if it goes away or you get more familiar with the car.

Default Engine still sputters when in idle or at a stop.

Okay, I have changed all four spark plugs, Ignition coils, and re-adjusted the air intake hoses and filter. I found them to be loose and caused the engine to run rough. Too much air and fuel mix. I even used a Carburetor spray cleaner and cleaned the air intake, the air/fuel sensor and the carburetor itself. And with the angle of the carburetor it was not an easy angle. Got the car to run fine, but my son( it's his car) said that it still sputtered at a stop. What the Hell!!! What else is wrong. I hate to give up the car, it's perfect for him and getting him to school and work, plus he can fill the tank with his own money without having to take out a loan(joke).

Any other suggestions, because I'm totally frustrated with this car. There is no tuning it's all computer.

So now what?

Buy a Honda? Is that what you own now? Or are you trying to be funny?

You bumped an 8 year old thread. You kinda brought it on yourself...

Also, what the hell were you spraying down? tC's are fuel injected. We don't have a Carb.

How did I bring this on myself. I'm asking for help on an issue with my car, and I get some kid cracking wise online.

Neither his nor your suggestion have help.

Xbox:

You came in here saying you cleaned the carb of a scion tC...You are aware that this "carburetor" that you speak of went the way of the do do bird in the 80's right? Get with the program guy.
