Default Will a 2008 tC Engine work in a 2006 tC?

Hello im new here and basically i killed my engine the other day. It wont start probably because of the dime sized hole next to oil pan. I was just wondering what would need to be done if i wanted the 2AZFE 2nd gen (2008-2010). I havent found any forums on this so please dont grill me if one already exists. Any help is super appreciated and thanks for reading this.

Just FYI, those are the engines that are prone to oil consumption issues.

Nothings perfect. If i watch my oil levels and dont gun it around town all the time it should be ok. And when it blows again ill just have to deal with it.

from what I have heard and the way the recall has gone, it doesn't matter how babied the engine was, the oil issues still occur.

personally i would be hesitant and not use one of those motors.

my sister in-law's 2007 tC (with the newer/revised engine) goes through a quart every 1.5 months. Car is bone-stock and she drives 8-10K miles a year. No oil leaks. Crazy.
