2006 Scion tC Front End noise

2006 Scion tC Front End noise
Hoping someone can help me with this. When I turn right I hear a grinding noise and when I take off in first gear I hear a knocking noise. I looked around my right tire today and saw this leaking. This can't be right and I'm guessing is the cause of the noise.
Anyone know what this part is?

That is the outer tie rod end. Check that it's actually knocking. Basically jack up the front of the car, grab the wheel and try to turn it left and right. If you see or feel any movement at the tie rod end , then you know it's bad.
