Brake pads on backwards?
I took my car (2006 tC) into a local dealer this weekend to replace a tire and they told me that my car is not safe to drive and that the front brake pads are on backwards on the front wheels.
They wanted to charge me $500 right away to put new rotors, brake pads, and flush the brake fluid.
Is that even possible? I did my own brake job(amateur mechanic) around 2 years ago... I'm pretty sure if bare metal were scraping the rotors it would have made a horrible sound and been pretty obvious. I've never noticed anything weird while driving the car.
Or is there something I could be missing here? I thought the pads could only go in one way because of how they are angled.
I definitely want to make sure everything is safe but it seems a little fishy.

I think and this is just my thought on this, even if this was your first time changing the brakes, you would have checked how the pads came out, I take pictures of ever thing I work on, just makes it easier to put back together, as far as flushing the brake fluid, that is not needed when you change any pads, so I think, and once again, they were taking you for a ride
