Default '14 tc Bumper Accent LEDs

Hey guys,

Has anybody tried removing/replacing the bumper accent LED's found on the 2014 tc model? I would like to get in there and swap the LED's with something crisper and brighter, and I have found absolutely nothing in the owners manual or anywhere online.

I'm just trying to figure out if these lights are accessible or if I am going to have to open up the accent light housing.

Thanks!

(btw.. I'm new to these forums and I'm very impressed with the creative mods I have seen from you guys!)

EDIT: Just to clarify, I am wondering if you can swap the LED bulbs within the bumper accent light housing. More specifically, does the housing pop open, or do you have to heat it and cut into it?

Welcome, and awesome post I too am interested, let see if the community can help both us out. I myself know you can unplug the power to them front inside under the hood, I also believe they should pop out probably as a whole with the black trim piece holding it.

They definitely should pop out as a whole.. I can see the housing when looking under the hood. Unfortunately, I don't believe you can access the housing unless you remove the entire bumper, so it would be nice if somebody who has already gone through the trouble of removing their front bumper could shed some light on this subject (pun hehe).

alright so i did my fog light install (didnt remove the bumper) and yes you can take out the Accent LEDs once you get that fog cover off.. which all can be completely done without taking the bumper off. Fog light cover the lower piece of the two just pulls out when you push it forward also helps to squeeze the little piece that snaps in. but you can do all this but going though under the car on the passenger side or doing both under and over on the drivers side.

but my buddy has taken the whole bumper off so it all comes off, if thats what you wanted to know as well. .

Nice I wanted to know too. What about the LED swap in the accent light housing? Is it doable? Who's done it?

Thanks for the info! Do you know if the actual LED bulbs pop out of the accent light housing though?

are you talking about just the white piece with the lights on the inside or the LEDs themselves..? cause i think the lights on the inside are on a sodderd to a chip (or whatever they put it too haha)

Yes are the LEDs soldered? Or can they be replaced with brighter?

When I look at them they indeed seem to be soldered, I am certain that they can indeed be replaced. Maybe you could replace what'sin there with a led strip perhaps ?

Pretty sure they are soldered but I'll be finding out this weekend most likely have time to pull them out to look since I'll be changing mine

This weekend will be the time I have to take a look but waiting to hear back for someone on ordering my purple LEDs. Though Saturday I plan to see what it's like inside

Got good news and bad news on this for you all.
Good news:
Can be done
Easy to take out without taking anything else off or jacking up the car.
Can do right from the engine bay to get to.

Bad news:
Going to need to bake or heat gun the housing to get to the LEDs if you want to even attempt this.

So is anyone going to try it? I think they're too dim myself, was a bit shocked at how dim they were the first time I saw them at night.

They are just for show and not for output. If I had a second set then I would
