HID Help Thread

I was about to order them (44$ with HID + bracket + 55w) but the shipping to Canada alone was 42$
I don't want to cheap out on them, but the shipping alone costs as much as the HID kit which i find ridiculous.
Thanks steve, you convinced me

I wonder what the mounting bracket entails...what wasn't available when I purchased mine last week!
Anyway, I hope I was helpful!
Really the moral of the story is: whichever manufacturer you go with, make sure you get a lifetime warranty...that's what really made the deal for me.
And you'll love 55w 5000k. I'm sure of it

I don't know if you can see this but I have 6k, 35watt headlight DDM tuning HIDs, and 3k, 55watt foglight DDM tuning HIDs.

Yes, I had one installed. They aren't that blue in person, it's just the picture. Its more white, slightly blue.

If you are purely concerned about your visibility at night, then a 55w 5000k is going to be your best bet. It is the 'sweet spot' for light, providing the most usable visible light with minimal color. It is just about a pure white light in color.
8000k and 10000k are very blue and as a result, yield less usable light.

You won't use them for high-beams because they take around 20 seconds to warm all the way up. Considering the brief time you use your high-beams, it's very impractical. For high beams I recommend installing new halogens like Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's. I am currently using my stock high-beams and they are sufficient when I need them.
I recommend ddmtuning.com. That is where I got mine and they come with a lifetime warranty. They also shipped out the same day I ordered. Very cheap too!

Ah ok yeah i have to raptors too. I have had them installed a little over a week now and they seem rock solid thus far.
Just don't freak out if they seem very blue when you first crank them up because they take a good 20-30 seconds to warm up completely. Well maybe it's a 55w thing because that's how mine are. I'm curious how your's will be.
Make sure you snap pics of your ballast placements too!

I certainly will! I got the brackets too to make the placement look clean! I will get back to you when I get them on. The only funny thing is that I haven't received confirmation that my order has been shipped out yet.

Maaaan why weren't these brackets available when I ordered mine?? I wonder if they are available separately.
And that's interesting they shipped mine the same day I ordered them... which I wasn't expecting because I heard horror stories about their slow shipping. I did get the 2 day fedex shipping though so that could have affected it.

Ya they sell them seperately! They are only like $5 if I recall. I need them now! I live like 30 minutes from their shop but am really too lazy to go over there and pick them up. Just going to have to wait I guess.
