I was thing about getting a TC and 100% going to turbo it. but i was wondering how 9PSI of boost can be had when it supposidly has a 10.4:1 compression ratio. my subaru has a 10.0:1 and can barley run 5PSI on the stock motor. not trying to ____ people off but im just wondering. also because i see thats the compression ratio varys throughout the years on the TC's is there and year that is better then another for boost?
the kit looks really nice BTW and the car sounds awesome taking off!

As for comparing the Scion tC to a WRX or STi...
Honestly your talking about two totally different cars & when comparing compression ratio's you have to take TUNING in consideration. The EJ20 or EJ25 that comes in the Subaru is strong motor but only runs 5psi because they have to also give you a 100K warranty on the OEM Turbocharged car. The tC will EZly running for 100K miles on 8psi if its taken care if & tuned correctly for the get go. Majority of problems occur when lack of maintace is shown to the vehicle or tuning issue from the beginning which results in damage of engine components.
FYI...for example, our 2nd DESCENDANT xB2 test car currently has over 50K and is still running the OEM motor & transmission which was turbocharged at 60 miles. It's all about how you take care of them & who you have messing with it.

I come from both worlds of the EJ stuff and and 2AZ stuff. Each has its pros and cons. If you decide to stick with the Scoob, Swap it, dont boost it. Reliability is key.

My biggest issue is going turbo first or coilovers, rims, and an exhaust first and waiting for the turbo. Just sold my 2009 wrx for my tc2 (due to financial issues which were quickly overcome now I have the tc2) and I HATE not being boosted but at the same time I can hold off for a bit and get decent gas mileage and stay out of trouble for a while and look good doing it til I get the money for the kit. Decisions :/
