Radio upgrade 2010 tc: do I need amp bypass

Recently bought 2010 tc and want to upgrade radio to a panasonic FH-X720BT. I was told at bestbuy that I may need an amp bypass. Do I need this for my car and this receiver.

You don't, but: why the FH-X720BT (which is a Pioneer device, btw)? It's barely an upgrade over the stock stereo.
