everytime i tilt my sunroof or open it completely, it rattles a lot whenever i hit a small bump in the road. are there any easy fixes for this, or should i just take it up with the dealer??

mines the same. the whole roof is made of glass which I'm sure has everything to do with it. unless it breaks then nothing van be done other than temp fixes when it's closed

Mine rattles too but nothing bad yet. Seeing that we have some pretty crappy roads in montreal.. mine's still working fine

Remove the sun roof! Lol jk everyone has the same problem I believe it's the way how the hinges hold the glass always going to rattle

I've complained about this to the dealer multiple times, they've fixed other rattles in the cabin, but told me there's no fix for this one and gave me Toyota's number

Several braces to stop the chassis flex. Get the ones for the C pillar and most of the sunroof issues will go away. Side effects of having all glass on the top half of the car.

My sunroof rattle seems to come from the air deflector or whatever it is called. I placed a little stick on rubber strip on the arms of the deflector and my rattle went away.

I first gave my dealer the car to fix this issue, i would be rattling when going over bumps. They said replacing the guides and rails for the sunroof would fix it, so they did. I got it back and it wasn't much better than before. So I took a technician out for a spin and let him watch the sunroof as I drove and see what was causing the rattles, the pop up sunshade wasn't the culprit, he said the glass itself moves around a bit and causes the rattles. I've worked for a few dealers in the past, including the toyota dealer I bought my tC from so they basically told me to wait until Toyota issues a TSB/Fix. They don't have one yet but will at some point and repair all the cars once enough people report the issue. ...guess we just have to wait now :/ but its a small gripe.
