Cool MR LUV's LUV MOBILE Mod Thread 2015 tC2.5 RS9

I had the Dealer Installed a bunch of Options prior to Delivery:
LoJack Recovery System, Scion Security Alarm System, Alloy Wheel Locks, Fog Lights,
TRD Front Strut Bar, Interior Light Kit (Blue), Premium BeSpoke Pioneer Audio w/ aHa & Navigation

I want to say this is more a Mod thread than a Build thread. I not going to show you How to Add Coil Overs, S/C,Turbo, Lights, do Brakes, Rotors.
There are plenty of those threads here and on YouTube.
I will use Professionals to do some work. Money is not an issue. Some will not agree with my Mods or Look I am trying to achieve.
That’s OK, that is what Modding and Individual Style is all about.
I have to keep in mind my 2015 Daily Driver is still Under Warranty so I’m not going too crazy or wild with my Mods.

My Goal is to Personalize my Ride to my Taste and to distinguish my RS9 from other RS9s.

Also the RS9 Included a lot of Mods I wanted. Some I will keep. Some I will change.

A List and Description of Release Series 9.0 (RS9) Features are located here: Scionlife.com - Garage Portal

1st Mod was a trip to Imperial Works to get Paint Protection Film (PPF). I did research and found XPEL Ultimate to bet the Best Film
because it has a full 10-year warranty against yellowing, discoloration, peeling, cracking and hazing.

If it fails, They’ll replace it—labor included. Video shown is the same film as mine being put on a '15 BMW X5:

2nd Mod I did was I went to Rocky Mountain Tint to get:

FormulaOne High Performace Auto Tint, Pinnacle Series. It has a Lifetime Warranty against discoloration, fading and workmanship.

5% Limo Tint on Back 3, 50% Tint on Front 2, 5% Limo Tint 4” Visor Strip. And XPEL Headlight Protection Film: will withstand 1” stone hit @120 mph.

And provides UV protection against foggy headlights.

A Perfect Tint Job! One Entire Single piece of film Precision Cut by CAD machine. No bubbles, blisters, or creases. Lifetime Warranty.

Lesser shops would normally use 2 pieces of film overlapping then cut at the Edges and Defroster lines. If they are not careful, they can cut your Defroster Wires!

Stay Tuned, more Mods to come.

I wanted Superior protection for my Interior than what was offered at the Dealer or in Auto Stores. So I went with WeatherTech Front and Rear Floor mats, & Cargo mats.

Also their Side Window Deflectors. I like the WeatherTech mats because of their High Sides to catch any spilled liquids and protection against the Elements such as Rain, Slush, & Snow.

Plus they are Laser Measured for a Perfect Fit unlike those Universal Mats you find in stores or on eBay. Also I love their Side Window Deflectors because they are Smoke providing a extra bit of Sun Protection.
And the fact I can crack the window during the Rain when it becomes stuffy.

I added a Suede Mat by DashMat Dash Covers. I really like how the Suede Mat conforms to my dash.
It feels really soft and supple and is a whole lot better than the hard plastic in the tC.

I plan to hold my RS9 forever and this will protect the dash against UV rays that can cause cracks in your dash.

My next Mods are dear to me. I have been a Batman fan since I was a kid. So I went with Batman Seat Covers, Front and Rear, Batman Floor Mats, Batman Shoulder Belt Protectors, and Batman Wheel Center Caps.
Debadge Scion logos and Added Batman logos Front and Rear for my
LUV MOBILE / BATMOBILE / GIANTS MOBILE

Default TRD Big Brake Kit (BBK)

I want to Upgrade my Brakes to Slotted or Cross-Drilled Rotors and wanted to go with Premium Brakes.
Brakes, IMHO is not where I would cut corners and go for the least expensive set.

So I went with the TRD Big Brake Kit. Also it does not Impact my Warranty.

Default MGP Caliper Covers (Red) for my Rear Brakes

The TRD BBK is only Available for the Front Axle Only. The reason being that on FWD cars it provides anywhere from 80% of the Stopping Power vs the Rear Brakes.
Unless you use your car on the track, it is not necessary to have a full set of Slotted or Drilled Rotors for a Daily Driver. But, I wanted to Balance the Look with the Front Brakes.
So, I bought a set of
MGP Caliper Covers (Red) for my Rear Brakes from CARiD. It took less than 90 seconds to install each cover after removing the wheel.

They are made of Aerospace Aluminum and are Power-Coated Red. They help reduce the Brake Dust.
Looks more Cleaner and easier to install than just painting the calipers. Also Match the Red color of the Fronts.

Congrats on the new tC- it looks gorgeous!

Just wondering what your ultimate reason was for getting rid of the xB...? was it still working 100% when you got the TC? Were you simply tired of owning the same car for so many years? I very deeply regret getting rid of my 2006 xb and always wonder what makes other owners get rid of theirs...

All the best with the new ride. It's a real looker!

Default Metaphormosis

Thank you for your Compliment. No, it was not so much that I wanted to 'get rid of my xB'. I absolutely Luv my Toaster and was the Most Reliable Car I had ever own.
It was 100% working when I traded it in. 177k miles and it ran like a Champ. Think of it as a 'Metaphormosis'
It transform from one Scion to another Scion I Luv.
If I had to break it down:

1. I am Single and only need 2 cars and not 3 vehicles. My other vehicle is a mini-van. Which i use to haul materials when I'm flippin' homes.
2. I have Limited Parking. My Garage is Full. Only room for 2 vehicles in my driveway and limited parking in the streets.
3. As an Engineer, I know that 9 yrs. old & 177k vs a New Car is No Comparison. Eventually, more maintenance and repairs.
I'm also a Landlord. A few years ago, after I replaced a roof, I sold one of my homes for a profit. I went to another County and bought 3 New Condos. That's what I mean by 'Metaphormosis'.
4. The RS9 is Orange and Black. The same Colors of my favorite team, the S.F. Giants. It a pretty Low Number #155 of 2000. That is important to this Collector.
The Dealer had 2-RS9s. Outside was used as a Demo and was #1038 of 2000. So I pass on that & took #155 in the Showroom. Only 8 mi.on the Odo
5. Not that the RS9 is a Sports Car, but it is compared to the pokey xBGen1. Need I say more.
6. Safety, Safety, Safety. No Comparison. 2 airbags on the xB vs 8 airbags on the RS9. That's important when I pick up my GF or my friends.

As far as my LUV MOBILE looking good. "You ain't seen nothin', yet" My car is in a Custom Body Shop getting One Mean Spoiler Wing put on as we speak.
It's not going to look like any typical tC or RS9 you have seen before. I hope to Post the pics up in another week on this channel.

Then a Very Interesting Mod with the TRD Cold Air Intake (CAI). The car will be Dyno Tested as Stock before and with the CAI after. I will Publish the Results Here.
It will be Surprising.

Then, I will have some Custom Engine Compartment Items that will you will have to see to believe. Stay Tuned, More Mods to Come.

Thank You for the Interest.

It is
One Mean Spoiler! It will take it to the Next Level.

Then it will be followed by the TRD Cold Air Intake (CAI)
Dyno tested with Before (stock) vs After (TRD CAI) results Published here.

There is a lot of controversy about Intakes. Which is Better? Are they any Good?
Worth the Money? What's Better? How about a SRI vs CAI?
I can answer what I don't know. But, I can Compare Apples with Apples.

I can tell you the initial results are Surprising
. But, wait for the Dyno Results. That is the only way to tell.

Too Many Peeps use a 'butt dyno' "It feels Great to me!" "I can Tell!" 'My Sister's Boyfriend really likes his Intake"

I say Show me the Dyno Graphs, Before and After".

After that Mod will be the Engine Compartment Mods that are Stunning!

Stay Tuned, More Mods to Come!
