Default Need help with tire size

Hey guys I'm trying to decide between what tire size to get. I got new wheels that are 18x8.5. I'm trying to decide between 235/45/18 or 245/45/18.

It depends on what your goal is. Are you trying to go max low and need to stretch? Or are you trying to maintain similar proportions that the stock wheel/tire setup has?

I'm trying to maintain the stock proportion look. I don't want to go too wide where the tire is sticking out too much. Do you guys think 245's are too wide? In the future I plan to lower with leaving a finger gap so I'm not sure if I will have a rubbing issue or not.

The place I'm getting tires told me 245's are too wide for the car but I'm not sure if it is or not.

245's aren't too wide. You can go as narrow as a 7.5" wheel with a 245...although it would look extremely meaty lol.

On your 8.5" wheels honestly either would do just fine, but I'd personally go with 235's like G5 said. It'll stretch a tire just a tad and take away some of that sidewall height. It'll make your wheels look better in my opinion. You won't have a rubbing issue.

So you plan on grabbing some coilovers then?

235's with 8.5 wheels is going to stretch the tire?

Yeah I'm planning get coilovers haha. Any brand you recommend? Do you know how many inches I would be dropping if I want to leave a finger gap?

Sounds like a bet man. Should fit very nicely. Running that same tire size on my 19x8 TRD wheels and it's a great fit. They'll work well for you. Now the question is...what tire are you going to to with?

this is what i like to use when it comes to getting sizes of tires set up.. (http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp) always gives me a good look at what im doing.. to be honest you could just stick the stock tires (225/45-18 on the 18x8.5 wheels, youll have more a wheel gap at stock hight since the tires will be more streched or i would go a 235/35-18 which you drop in car hight about 1.5 inches. im just not to sure what you want the overall look to be like. as for dropping the car on coils i think maybe 1.5inch drop should be good to keep that finger gap.

235/45 or 245/40. Not much diff. Prob go 235/40 if was me. Slight stretch and side wall of 94 mm. Stock is about 101mm sidewall. 245/40 would be 98 mm. 245/45 would be 110mm. Which is significantly more than stock and would look like crap Imo. 235/45 would be 105mm not noticeably bigger than stock sidewall really. In conclusion go 235/40 if ur on coils. Slight stretch to tuck under fender and not too thin of sidewall so it won't ride like hell.
