Default TRD Sway Bar end link bushing problems

Put in my sway bar kit, including the endlink bushing that come with it. I followed all instructions to a T. The washers that sandwich the endlink bushings don't seem thick enough to avoid bending under load. After a week, the washers bent and the top bushing on both sides shredded. I swapped the stock rubber bushings back in. This seems really shady. Anyone else had a similar experience? If so, I'll contact TRD and see what the deal is. I think a thicker washer (similar to or thicker than stock) would completely eliminate the problem.

Did you take a quick drive around and then tighten everything again? And check it again a few days later? Sounds like something got loose and started to wear out other parts. Also did you jack up the car when installing it?

As I said before, everything was installed and torqued as per the instructions. The bushings didn't get destroyed because of being loose, but rather because the washers deformed (bent). Whether the endlinks were bolted with or without being on a jack shouldn't matter. The sway bar is free to rotate on it's own until the endlinks are tightened down. Also the nut for the endlink is a locknut. It wouldn't have loosened on its own.

are you sure that you had the bushings in the right way there are two differently shaped ones at first glance they seem to be the same but one has a more concaved shape than the other there is four bushings total two are slightly different than the other two and one of each pairs goes on each side the instructions didnt really say much about that and the pic isnt really great either it just kinda looks like you put one bushing on either side of the bar but there is a certain way the bushings go on

My kit came with 6 endlink bushings. 4 with a "male" end, 2 "female". i placed the new washer on the endlink, then a "male" bushing, then the control arm, a female bushing, another included washer, then the nut.

What happened was both the top and bottom washers went from being concave to convex, the forces from the bars caused the washers to bend, almost flipping inside out. It appears that the washers aren't strong enough. When the washers bent, it allowed enough play for the bushings to tear.
