Aww man! It worked in preview. I was using an iCloud site. Damn you apple! I guess I'll have to load the images into the gallery ok Scionlife, then link them unless someone has an easier way

Yea just like google drive, iCloud won't let you share images directly.
Perhaps you can use the very simple imgurl. I'm not sure how long the images stay active. Or open a imageshack account.

Alright, well the pics will be up later tonight or tomorrow. At least I got all that writing out of the way. Just picture a lot of shots of the wheels slowly getting darker, haha

Great Success! I'm doing this very soon. I have all the primer, paint and clear I need to last a lifetime..Oops, better to have too much.
Thanks for taking the time to do a write-up.
(Mods, can we delete the last few posts we wasted about trying to host photos?)

keep your receipts, everyone I bought from has a 90 day return policy as long as its not used. I got back about 16 bucks for my returns.
looking back, I would definitely primer, then sand with a fine grit sand paper. Maybe 800, then wash off, let dry, paint another coat of primer, then sand with 1000, wash off, dry and then continue with the rest. That would make it look way cleaner, smoother, shiny, etc.

I have officially began the project. Well I started sanding at least. How do I know I sanded enough? I want my prep work to be good. I'm switching between 500 and 1000 grit with wet soapy water.

Sorry man, didn't see you had posted until just now. You really dont need to get too crazy with sanding, just enough to where its not really smooth any more. At some points, there was no more gray and it went to a cream color, but you dont need to sand that far.

If you want it to look really nice, just make sure to sand the primer once you have painted it, so you get a nice smooth primered surface to paint on

Thanks sir, I'm officially starting today, car is on 4 Jack Stands. Despite the humidity, its actually cold outside, but better than warm humidity, I'm doing it inside my garage. I sanded already, last month actually lol. The cream color shows in a few spots, but the wheel still feels smooth, although not as smooth as stock. I used wet 500 Grit. I will lightly sand the primer with 1000 grit.

Default Interested in doing this to my wheels

I am considering doing this to my wheels as well, but I have a question. On two of my rims are pretty distinctive scrape marks that took of a good portion of the gloss and exposes the metal under rim (not by my doing bought this car used) should I still plastidip or just get new rims and will the sanding help even out the damage??

Don't plastidip, just paint like the thread says. I had some curb rash too and it sanded down some and the paint covered the rest!
