My shaking/vibration is similar to this one but not as bad. and it is bad when I have it on drive and im at a full stop
Vibration goes down when set on neutral
Vibration goes down when on park
Vibration goes down when I turn off a/c
Looks like all supports are good and tight.. " LOOKS "

My car also used to have the rpm's fluctuate from 600-900rpms

I thought this would be the issue to the vibration/shaking, so i went ahead and changed a couple of things

- I have replaced the PCV Valve
- Cleaned out the Mass Air Flow Sensor
- Replaced the Throttle Body with Both Sensors on it.
- Ran Scanner , No Codes found.
- I have been adding Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment for past 2 months
- The rubber washers on the air filter compartment all seemed to be fine.



This seemed to have fixed the RPM's Fluctuation But it still shakes/vibrates , Could it be that i need to adjust the Rpm's ( The adjuster cable is a bit loose not tight) It runs at 1800 when Cold and 800 or 900 when warm. but its steady now.

I have done maintenance to the car already . Air Filter , Oil Change, Spark Plugs.

My questions are as followed..

What are the normal RPM's that the Scion xA is supposed to run when Warm at a full stop? When i press the accelerator at roughly 1500 it does not vibrate.. Should i adjust the cable to be set at those Rpms?

I'm really late to this thread, but I just repaired a vibration very similar to this. The video looks like its just the airbox vibrating. I saw a great tutorial on YouTube on fixing this with new bushings
I went and bought "wiper motor bushings" removed the airbox and replaced the rubber. Super easy and I'm really pleased with result- no vibration at all. The only thing is that the rear clips for my airbox lid were missing (so were the guy's in the video) so they might fall off and get lost easy. If yours are still there, just be careful not to lose them. I tied mine back on with nylon ties (like I fix everything).

Check the air hoses. On my xA with that issue, one of the hoses had a tiny crack, introducing air. Naturally, it moved when the engine changed speed with the added air, closing the crack, then this resulted in the change in engine speed back. Back and forth it went...until I figured it out and replaced the little short hose.
