Hey guys! Brand new to the car world. Literally decided to find a passion for then today. I don't even own a car but I have my heart set on finding an xA for about $5000 or so. Once I find would would you guys have suggestions on where to start on tuning? Like I said I'm brand new and anything helps! Thanks for checking this out

Don't spend $5,000 on an xA, that's too much. And yes, we will help you. Read around and search around so you can be better educated so you have a better idea of what questions to ask, otherwise you're questions are going to be painful.

I mean, that should be at least a $4,000 car by now, and it won't have low miles most likely. As far as a good place to find one, that's not a realistic question, you know. There aren't like a flock of xA's sitting somewhere and you just have to go find them... they are hit or miss, and they are out there, no where in particular. Just look at Craigslist or Cars.com or something like that, and then always check your local dealerships or car lots. I know I'm always car shopping, and I've never seen one for sale. Not one.

I'm really looking for a hatchback to be honest. But I'll start doing some research on both. I'm really hoping for an xA or xD because to be honest (and not sound like a total noob so i apologize if i do) I would like to go for more of a rally looking set up in the end, I think the hatches look wonderful that way!

A box hatch type of car. But I'm willing to keep an open mind to it. What's a good starting price to find a tC?

The xB is box hatch too.

A tC can easily be $4,000, but more around $6,000 is the normal for an older one like the xA.

Awesome! thanks for all the help. I'm hoping to have enough saved up in the next 2 months to score a decent scion. Once I do you'll see me back here. I appreciate it!

Why pay cash? Get a loan. Obama let's people live for free. I think a young person with enough insight to join a forum should be allowed to get a little money for some wheels...

I got a decent deal with mine... super low miles (almost new) 2010 M/T. I have taken her cross country 6 times and have made it through all sorts of weather. just cracked 76,500 miles and running like new.

I tell you man... DO YOUR RESEARCH!! and don't just think about your immediate needs now... look a bit into down the road... needed space, gas mileage and uses...

the almost virtually bullet proof car I have has been put through the ringer... im not that easy on her and she has kept up step for step.
