Default Cold Air Intake questions

(questions for both CAI and SRI)

-What's the best place to put one?
-I plan on lowering my car, will that be a problem if I lower it and get an intake?
-Do you recommend one?

All criticism and opinions welcome

Plantation huh? Nice. Anyways. Your first question is a little goofy. Your intake only goes on one place. Cold air intake vs. short ram intake, CAI's I "supposed to make more power", but for ease and reliability, I'd just go with an SRI. Your xA isn't making any power to being with, and a filter isn't going to matter, so I'd just go with an SRI. Lowering your car will not effect anything with your intake. I don't recommend an intake for an xA just because of how weak those motors are, not to mention, it's a 10 year old car now, so it certainly won't make a difference, so it would be just something to have to say that you have or to look at when you pop the hood. I'd do it just to say you have on at least.

You're very right, they don't put out that much power; so yeah, I'm doing it for the sake of doing installing it and a plus for sound ;D

Cool. You won't notice much sound either out of your little motor, but like you and I said, just to say you have it.

I got a takeda cold air intake in my 14 tC pretty cool sound. Feel the difference slightly but over all pretty satisfied. The only thing about lowering your car and having a cai is watch out with them puddles when it rains lol

@jct I'm probably just gonna get both lol it all just takes time to get the money for these things. I'm getting an SRI soon for sure, the headers'll be a later mod after I'm lowered a little and replace my belts :T

check out the afe...ran that it was. nice...uses lower portion of stock box but has a cone filter...stockish look. i ran a trd cai for a couple years...dont recommend a cai as its a pain to service filter and our xa's fender liners suck. i went back to the stock box, and modified it..took out charcoal filter and the plastic screen thing, cut the side out and dropped a afe dry filter in it.

either a modded stock box or an sri or cai will definitely increase engine noise. ive tried all 3.
