Default Can Any xB Guys Or Gals Here Give Me A Little Advice With A Starting Issue I Have??

Hello there just picked up my first xB 2005 model. Guy I got it from said it died on him 2 yrs ago and was towed to his house and never looked at. I got it home changed the oil and noticed the drive belt for the ac,alt, and water pump was just hanging there broke. I replaced that belt and put a new battery in and all I get is cranking over. I tried the starting fluid trick and it won't even attempt to act like it's trying to fire. I also have a nice brand new Matco scanner and its saying there is no trouble codes at all. Checked the fuses under the hood by the battery and checked out with a test light. Can anyone please offer a little advice on what to try or look for. Thanks much in advance!!!

I now this thread is old, but did you ever resolve your issues? I have the same problem with mine after putting on a new head gasket. All fuses good, have spark, fuel, no codes, acts like it wants to catch and fire but it doesn't. the only rhing I can thimk of is the vvt solinoid or the crank pos sensor.

I usually check fuel and spark. If that's good then I check engine compression.
