Changing exhaust system 2004 XB Manual
My muffler and cat converter both need changing. I have been driving around for a while with a CEL for the cat, and now my muffler pipe has sprung a leak. So, time to change the system. I bought an entire new stainless steel aftermarket system plus new oxygen sensors.
I plan on doing this myself, and have consulted the service manual posted on this site. Everything looks clear but......
It directs one to remove the shift console as the first step. My question is simple...why do you do this?
One tip is that Walker is having a rebate on its mufflers...I paid 80$ delivered for a direct replacement of the OEM Stainless steel muffler and will get $50 bucks back. How they can stay in business with deals like this is a mystery to me.
(I also direct you to partsgeek where I got the front cat assembly for about $250..a really low price.) So the entire new exhaust will cost about 300$.
Thanks in advance,
Phil
