I was also working on making copies of the ones I made for myself for some friends. The headlight trim pieces should fit any early XB, but the center piece was made to fit a billet grill and would have to be cut down to fit other grills. I am having 4 sets of the three pieces water jet cut now out of 0.090 alum. and should know if they fits other XB's soon. It would be a do it yourself type kit. You could polish, paint or cover them with vinyl.

that looks really nice! I have the RS 2.0 grille so i dont know how much more modifying it would need. Would you be willing to make these and sell them?

Ray, I should have the first 4 sets back from the metal shop this week and am going to see how they fit on a few different XB's. If they fit ok, I will see about getting more made and make them available. If you are in a hurry, I could send you a paper template and you can make yourself a set.

How much would you charge for a paper template?

aalbertson3, give me a couple of days to see if these will fit a few other XB's (mine has aftermarket headlights) with no problems and I'll send you a paper copy. I'll try to get an instruction sheet together also. PM me with your mailing address.

kzhorse, except for cleaning up the look of the engine compartment, there is no function to them.

On this car... nothing other than looks. The tC one technically directs flow through the top grille downwards, but on a car that has a solid (stock) top grille, there's no airflow anyway, so yea, it doesn't really matter. I suppose, if you ran an open top, it theoretically will divert the air, but since the radiator is mounted so low, it's not really going to do anything.

I will say that it looks nice and I like how it cleans up that area. I'd rather cut one out of plexi and save myself the bills that the stainless piece inevitably costs.

The Doc I ones for the tC are plastic... I'd imagine it'd be easy to fab something up that would be less expensive.

The paper template copies are sent out.

I got the first 4 sets of alum. pieces back this weekend. They fit my grill and headlight set up, but need to be modified to fit a stock grill and stock headlights. I gave a set to a friend who has stock parts and he is going to modify what he has to to make them fit. We will then make copies of his modified pieces to make adjustments to the template.

Hope it works for you. Let me know what you had to mod to get a good fit. If you need the autocad file to send to a metal shop, let me know and I can email it to you. That format seemd to work good at the place I used here in Orlando.

Maybe we could do this like a share-ware type project. I can upload and share the pattern file somewhere, were everyone could download it, and as people modify it to fit other combination of lights and grills they could upload the revised patterns for others to use ect...
