You can get a low level converter or SubPlugs (if they're still being made, I have a set in the garage) to add RCA's to the stock HU. You'll need a separate way to control output though.

I'm doing the same thing. First time installing a system for me and I can't seem to figure out what wire I splice into for the remote wire to turn on the amp with my stock pioneer radio. Also what wire do I use to install this line out converter for the rca audio cable? Any help guess I'm really trying to get this done,

Thanks guys

Not sure if the kits are still being made but the nor cal scion group was selling the line out kits that were plug and play if you want to do some searching.Or get a hold Stylis over at Prec muffler and ask him he might know..

Well I already bought the pie aux-toy adapter and plugged that into the back of the radio and then ran the rca-audio jack out so I can use the satellite function of the radio to play my ipod on which works great. Now I need to wire my amp and sub which I'm clear on where to wire the main battery power cable and the ground but the two that I'm unsure about are the audio Wire which has rca connections which i guess an aftermarket head unit has and the "remote" or turn on wire that turns the amp on when the radio is turned on, which an after market head unit has a green 6 inch piece of wire in the back just for that function. so I'm not sure what wire to use to power on the amp and where the audio cable goes. I used this you tube video to reference I know it a tc but its the same radio so I was doing the same thing.

He says he uses a "line out converter" to attach the audio cables to.
1. I'm not sure what a line out converter is
2. what wires from the stock radio did he splice it into?
Thanks again guys I'm trying here

Any wire that gets power when the key is in acc position can be used as your remote wire. I think it's the grey one from hu harness.
Wires used to connect to line out converter = any if the wires from hu that go to your rear speakers.
