Just thought I'd share a recent positive vendor experience. I am an original xB 2004 owner, and way back when I bought a USA Spec TOY-PA10 iPod interface to connect my iPod to the stock car stereo. Installed myself, cost about $130 from Crutchfield. Gives access to 6 playlists that must be specially named. I use it with my iPod Classic every time I drive.

With a cable upgrade from the vendor a few years later, it worked well enough with my first few iPhones, however even with a stock Apple 30 pin->Lightning adapter interface, would not recognize my iPhone 5S.

I held off on upgrading because I was too lazy to go through another installation; wasn't clear from information online what the upgrade path was, if any; and wasn't sure which newer units supported the latest iPhones and my old car.

Fears unrealized, as the upgrade couldn't be easier. Called USA Spec directly (+1-626-336-3836) and was offered a 20% discount on the TOY-PA15; price before shipping is $120. Cable compatible, so no reinstallation necessary. They don't offer a direct Lightning interface, so no big deal but must bring your own 30 pin->Lightning adapter. The PA15 supports the old specially named playlists, plus offers more direct control and access to play any playlist plus apparently some (all?) third party apps. The guys I spoke with at the vendor were very helpful, and offered the discount unprompted.

Overall, super easy to upgrade and should have done it earlier. Hope this helps prod someone in my situation to do the upgrade.
