I noticed that you have your detector hardwired to that location. . . if you don't mind me asking, which wires did you tap?

For those that installed these on an xB, how was the wiring done? Also, did the xB version have instructions?

Default 2006?

Has anyone done this with a 2006 XA? Do you get the same vibrant blue and red colors?

And how does it look with the near white Odometer/Clock the 2006 has?
Is it alot brighter than the rest of the gauges then?

Wish there was an easy overlay to change the Odometer/Clock to blue too

The '04-05 and '06 gauage clusters are essentially the same except for the artwork and the illuminated needles on the '06, the S7 overlays soulds work with no problems.

Does anyone have a pic of the '06 cluster at night? I'm interested in the lighting scheme of the '06.

MikeyShine: The colors are the same as the overlays are EL (electroluminescent) gauges and the silver panels with the numbers on them have the colors on them.

Default Hmmm

Uber I dont have a night shot but I found this daytime shot.

Basically what is silver and/or white glows at night. The color is like a white with just a small hint of pale blue and the Odometer/Clock glows a not-so-bright white but better than amber I guess.

I think the way the gauge looks like its brushed aluminum by day but somehow ends up being transparent for the LEDs to shine through at nite is awesome. I like the gauge OK it's just not BLUE

When I took the pic at night my camera was in night mode so it enhanced the brightness some. They are very bright on their own, if yours are dim try fiddling with the controls on your inverter and they should brighten up for you.

Also I find the best lighting results are with the color set to the last Blue/purple setting before the overlays go green and with the highest brightness.

Well, the inverter burned out a couple of months after I got them, so i'm stuck with just a normal one without the controls. I tried to contact AC Autotechnic, but they didn't get back at me. Well anyways, before it burned out, I was messing with it, and it still didn't make it bright enough. And what are you talking about the purple before it turns green? Did they make 2nd gen gauges? If so, I know for a fact that I got the 1st gen.

On my S7 guages you can change the colors. I think there are about five in total and of the five, the final color is a bright white/blue/purple color combination and this is the setting I keep mine on as it gives the brightest overall look to the guages.

Mine doesn't change colors, unless I missed something.
Maybe they made new ones that are brighter.

Maybe there's some diy mod with plexiglass or lights or something that we can do for the needles, especially the gas needle.

It sounds like some of you may have received a different inverter that what I got with my kit, The S7's are supposed to come with a variable inverter ( this is what I have ) to change some settings on your overlays.
