Navi & Scion Subwoofer

Navi & Scion Subwoofer
Is it possible to get the Eclipse Navi unit and have the scion sub connect easily, since on the directions it seems like the sub connects with a weird connector, and not RCA, cables. BUt the Eclipse navi unit is made by Fujitsu-Ten which is the company that supplies most toyota radios and navi units

It would probably require a good deal of effort since the factory sub plugs right into the back of the stock headunit and gets its source, power, ground, and turn on lead from there. Also the stock unit is pioneer in all scions, and plus, if you're getting an eclipse navigation unit, shouldn't you want to upgrade to some high quality components instead of the blah optional subwoofer.

Navi with stock sub location
You're going to need to purchase an amplifier, and sub and install that sub in the SCION tC Subwoofer enclosure.
Any customer shop should be able to do that fairly inexpensivly.

FWIW the stock Scion radio connector plugs directly into the Eclipse AVN2454. Power and speaker wire positions on the connector are exactly the same. Since the Scion subwoofer is speaker-level driven, there would be no problem using the Scion sub with the AVN2454. However... the 2454 does have have a line level output (that the stock radio doesn't have) specifically for driving a sub so you could use a better amp/sub if you wanted to.

As long as you are wiring a Toyota harness to your aftermarket stereo (which is the right way to do it, the wrong way being cutting the harness plug off in the car and wiring it up directly) then it doesn't matter what aftermarket head unit you use. The sub harness will just plug in between the factory harness and the new plug you wired to the head unit.
