Scion XB Wiring Colors

NOTES:
*1 Meter these wires while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder. Unlock requires a double pulse. Can also use the passenger door key cylinder wire for unlock, which only requires a single pulse. It is blue/red (-) in the passenger kick in a 14 pin plug.
*2 Also found at the top of the fuse box in a 13 pin plug.
*3 The data link connector is below the fuse box. The tach wire is in pin 9.

Default Alarm

Are the wiring colors the same in the tC? I am trying to install a power window roll/up module for my alarm and can't figure out what color the power window wires are.

should we present this to a installer in case they are not aware or are these pretty universal or easy to figure out by a installer?

dont worry about presenting this to an installer. They should have this program where this info was stolen from.

I have a question in regards to installing an aftermarket Tachometer.

I will be purchasing a C2 Auto Meter Tach w/ shift light.

I do know that our cars are distributorless, and run of DIY or something, and that if you wanted to install a tachometer(aftermarket) you'd have to purchase a module to convert stuff..

Well, my concern is, I already bought the Tach., and I'm stuck...lol

I knew I was going to run into this problem, but they're ARE ways around this..

I believe that MSD makes a module to plug a big-face tach into, that then plugs into your ECU or this *3 port..

Please.. HELP!!!

Thanks!

I installed an autometer sport comp in my box with no problems I just hooked the tach lead into the data link connector # 3 { black wire } the only thing that had to be done to the tach was the yellow and brown wire loops in the tach had to be cut as per the autometer instructions so it would work for our 4 cyl setup.

Any chance we could get a similar breakdown for the tC? Specifically the radio harness? Been searching forever and can't find anything, and they're not the same!

wow great info Inazuma - definitely a keeper

would you happen to know how i would hook up the halos and leds lights from a projector headlight to the existing turn signal wires? i'm not that techy but i'm sure i would have to splice them onto the existing turn/parking signal wires. any info/instrux on that would be appreciated. thanks.

Look at the "location" column of the chart, it tells you where each wire is located.

the 'radio switch' wire is the one you'd use for a remote turn on.

Also even though this thread is old, I thought anyone who reads it should be thanking DEI directechs bc that is where Inazuma copied it from. I work in an install bay and we get our wire info from the exact same place and they look exactly like that.

Default Radio Mute Button

Has anyone re-wired their steering controls to include a mute button? I would like to have my mode button become my mute control. I know there must be a pin on the back of the radio that will provide a remote mute - anyone explored this?
