Default Sirius Dealer Option: Scion doesn't know what Toyota does

I emailed Scion with their customer form today, inquiring about the Sirius Radio option that is to be available in February 2005 (according to this press release http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...=1101254447546).

This is the response I got from Scion.

Thank you for contacting Scion.

We have no current plans to offer Sirius radio as an option on our vehicles.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions or comments. We would be happy to assist you. You may contact us directly at 1-866-70-SCION or by email at

I hope this is a marketing company that has no clue that THIS IS AN OPTION COMING FROM TOYOTA.

Looks like it could be an automatic response depending on the wording of your letter.

Maybe it's just easier to call them in this case..?

i think it's hilarious that the person writing you a response doesn't have a clue.. i already read the press release and it mentioned Scion as well as Toyota products.. even said the tC specifically would have sirius satellite radio as a dealer installed option beginning in february.. another customer service person who doesn't have a clue.. i asked about it and they told me i'd need a new radio for that.. so i guess the person i talked to knew what was going on..

Well, if they are saying we need a new headunit, I want to know if there will be a core-trade program or something for those of us who have a tC but would like to do the factory option Sirius.

Go to scion.com and do the live chat thing. It's a neat feature and you can just dump the link on the chat window and tell them to check it out themselves.

What Sirius unit are you using there? That fits in that compartment really well actually. Where did you mount the antenna? Etc. etc....

Basically tell us about that setup you have there.
