Strut Extras...
Hi,
Finally doing my front struts on my '05 xB.... The replacement struts are easy enuff to replace, but what isn't really mentioned is needing to replace the strut bumper (orangish spongy rubber mushroom looking thingy) that rides up and down the strut shaft inside the rubber booty. Mine had all but disintegrated after 10 years. I had to search out parts diagrams from Toyota to get the correct part numbers.
Also, the paper/foam washer thingy that goes between the top strut bearing and the metal strut cap that goes on top of the rubber booty had melted into mush. I used the Toyota parts diagram to get the proper part number.

The Strut Bumper is item #14 in the diagram, and the washer is called Dust Seal item #17. Adds another $42.00-ish to the cost if you need to replace these as I did.
