Brake caliper and mounting torque specs, anyone?
I've searched, and tried to even get a book locally to find the torque specifications for the mounting and caliper mounting bolts. The stealership wants over $180 for brake job, and out of countless visits there, they have only done one job right the first time. But they've managed to screw up other things. Other places I've talked to I know won't do the brakes right. They said they just bottom the pistons without cleaning, and will use substandard pads.
I can order a book for nearly $40 and wait for the specs.
I am told that the front brake design is the same as my 01 Corolla. I did those a few years back, and it has nearly 60k miles of smooth, quiet braking. So I'll feel safer doing the Scion's brakes as well, and save some $$$.
I also have mixed answers on this, are the factory pads ceramic like the Corolla or semi-metallic? Prefer ceramic based on how the Corolla's last brake job went compared to previous.
BTW, I've done several searches already, haven't found the answer to these question. Thanks for any help that can be offered.
