Default Rear Bumper Applique..any thoughts or pics?

I want to get the full utility out of my xB and load some things in the back, but don't want to scratch up my bumper. Does anyone have the rear bumper applique? How does it look on the car? Does it do a good job of protecting the bumper? Is it worth the price? Whats it made of? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

its like the thing on the bottom of your shower so you dont slip. And since many of us shower while standing on our rear bumper (you'll see when you get one) its very handy. I have one, but I'm too much of a monkey to know how to post pic, but lemme tell you I have a black xB so it looks good, on some colors you see lil poka dots every where when you put the applique on so what color are you getting ? And if you plan on sticking stuff in the rear like heavy crates of records, its good protection from scrapes.

You can get the details on that HERE

My dealer had them, as well as all the other appliques, installed on a showroom xB. I personally don't think they look very good, but as with all things Scion, it is a matter of opinion.

--edit to agree with Djuan--
How it looks will depend a lot on your car color. Too bad the appliques don't come in matchings colors.

yah ive got polar white and the applicae looks terrible on the white. On black/blue its simply underwhelming in a ' fifty bucks for that?' kind of way. Im curious if the after market will provide anything better. Because much like you id much rather not scrape my bumper. Even skate board grip tape would be better than the option. oh and beware the cargo cover its even more unimpressive and i actually bought that.

A consideration if you plan on getting or have a black/blue scion...but with any other colors, I think it makes the back look too tacky...why couldn't they make it all solid and CLEAR..like the xA one?!! That way at least it would look good on all colors instead of the ones that HIDE it anyway.

I second that on the cargo cover...waste of my 50 bux.

Funny, I'm a vote FOR the cargo cover. I wish it was retractable like the xA's but it's not too bad. Of course I haven't tried to remove it yet, which wont be fun.

Final thought: it could be GREATLY improved, but what other options are there? Not the best design, but not a waste of money in my opinion.

(And I thought about the bumper applique, but then decided I liked the unprotected bumper better. I have seen the applique on the TCM (silver) and I thought it looked good from a distance, but up close it's just a sticker. Looked cheap up close.)

I just deleted the applique the other day. I just grabbed a corner and started pulling. Its probably a good option for moms who are going to be loading stroller in and out of the back, but I am not a mom and am VERY carefull.

I have a camo green one, any thoughts on it on the green. My scheme is pretty much black on the green. My wheels are black (not gunmetal or hyperblack) and I tinted my fromt windows the same as all around so pretty much its black on green with everything. So i'm figuring it won't look too bad. What are your thoughts? I'm not a mom either, but a DJ, so I will be loading crates of records and turntables in flight cases. I'm usually careful, but in a dark parking lot after a long night of DJing at a club it's kinda hard to be careful sometimes.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: don't know if you've noticed but check out scion.com's picture of the rear bemuper applique. Check out the taillights. Clear lens black housing with round lights. I'm pretty sure that's not jdm, but they sure look nice. Take a look:

the rear bumper applique is something i plan on adding as an option. it is great if you plan on putting stuff in the back.

i also never noticed the taillights in that pic.

Default camo green

i think the camo green looks fine...so add it to the list with black and dark blue.
its not a great item, but its not a bad item either...i would go either way...personal opinion.
i agree with what the others have said...bad on white b/c it looks like polka dots.

the applique is not very noticable onthe camo as you can see here

maybe ill get a better pic later if anyone wants to see another. this is the one i had of the back of the car and already online.

Default on a mission

I think it looks good on all colors you just have to be aware that there is pokka dots back there, some more visable than others. I don't have anything against pokka dots, and my first scratch ( was bound to happen sometime ) and was on the edge of the applique so its not bad at all. And your garage looks like my friends apt complex in Mission Viejo !!! and nice wheels..... !

If you are around Costa Mesa and want a rear bumper aplique let me know. I have one and hate it, it came on the car already if you can figure out a way to get it off and restick it you can have it. Today is the 22nd if no one wants it Im just gonna trash it in a week if someone wants to try to restick it post a reply and I will send you my cell number.

i only see this one:

i think it does look a lot better than the shower-mat style one that is on there right now. i also think that it will match any color scion that has the brushed aluminum door sill guards that are a factory option.
only negative is itsn price! 120 bucks for one cover!...yikes
