Default Replacing front fender on 2005 xB

My front fender on driver's side got munched in a parking lot by a hit and run driver. Anyone know how to replace it? I guess I got lucky in that its mainly that and the headlight assembly. If I replace it myself, I'll have maybe $1,500 left over from insurance. I'll be able to get the whole car painted. If I take it to a shop, I pay a $250 deductible and don't have the car for at least a week. It's such a small fender but I'll bet there's at least one bolt that's really hard to get to. Hopefully not. It will be a huge help if someone can give me the skinny on how it's done. Thanks!

It's looking like I'll need to figure this one out. I'm guessing that when I get the replacement fender, it will help me locate where the bolts are. I'll take pictures and let you guys know how it goes. I do believe I'll need to take off the bumper. If anyone has done that, advice will be appreciated.

That definitely helps. Thank you for finding it. I'll take some pictures and post here. The last fender I replaced was back in the day when they were more solid and generally easier. I'm hoping the author's warning is mainly about getting the fender back on which is usually a pain these days as I understand it. The post reminded me that I need to mark some key locations before removing the old fender. I'm elated that I may not have to remove major parts like the bumper. The insurance adjustment included an hour for bumper removal and replacement. That would probably be four hours at my speed. ;)

You may be able to get away with not taking the bumper off as it's only connected to the fender in one or two places if I'm not mistaken...bumper removal is easy though.

Shoot me a PM as I've got something that might help.
