Default identifying rattle from rear wheelwells/speaker area

I need help identifying the source of a rattle coming from the rear wheelwell or rear speaker area. There's a distinct rattling coming from both left and right sides when driving over anything but glass smooth pavement.

I took off the little interior access panels that let me reach inside the tail-light and speaker area, and looked and felt around while a friend drove. The rattling continued, but I couldn't feel anything at all moving, or even locate the source any better.

Anyone else have this? Any guesses?

On the right rear side, there was the rear window washer fluid tube, and a bundle of wires running upwards and out of reach. On the left rear side, there was the housing for the cable that opens the gas tank lid. I could feel the back of the speakers, but didn't really feel any wires near them. Where are the harness connectors?

Thanks in advance-

try taking off the caps to get to the shocks, i know it would be hard to make them rattle by just driving but hey its a thought. i had to take mine off, but that was due to the amount of bass my subs were producing causing the caps to rattle like crazy.
