Default Radio Recommendation?

Looking to upgrade the stock radio from 2005 to something that will give me hands free calling, navigation and will allow me to use my iPhone with it.

Want something that will not require any real changes to the vehicle.

Any recos?

Default Car stereo with Navigation?

I have a friend who has the Pioneer AVIC-5000NEX, it has hands free calling, works good with the iPhone(prob. not so good with Android), and has the navigation as well. It's a nice unit with a very colorful and bright 6.1 inch screen. This unit is great if you have the $600-$700 for the unit then another $300 or more for the extra parts you'll need plus labor.

That's the problem for me, it's really pricey for a car stereo with navigation. I can get a non navigation car stereo that has bluetooth, siriusXM, HD radio, iPhone/Android capability, and the ability to connect two backup cameras for around $300. Add the parts and labor and it would probably be around $700 though.

I've thought about buying the $300 Pioneer car stereo w/bluetooth and installing it myself. Since it has bluetooth I can then connect it to one of those iPad's where you pay a monthly charge for internet connection. I would also get a bluetooth computer chip for my Scion and I can load apps that will tell me my cars performance. I'd have navigation, hands-free calling, tons of cool apps for the car along with internet connection. All this on a huge iPad screen and it might blow any regular car stereo away. Yes, a little pricey but it'd be nice to have a Scion with a Tesla type sized screen etc.

Anyway, good luck on whatever route you take!
