Ok, so I was rear ended a month ago. I just got my car back from the body shop yesterday. Well now when I open the trunk door I'm pretty sure in the past the door would lift up after a certain point. Well it looks like that point is a lot higher up now.

Well my question to you is what point does your trunk door automatic lift up?

Also would getting new trunk struts fix the issue? Since I have a older Scion (200.

It is possible that one of the struts was damaged in the accident and you're only lifting with one right now. Only thin I can think of that would cause it to do what you are describing. Try unclipping them one at a time to see if one holds it up better than the other. You can get replacement one reasonably cheap online.
