Xenon/ HID kit suggestion
#2
I used DDM Tuning HID kit with the wiring harness in my '11 in '11. After 3 years I needed to replace the fuse holder (arcing internally melted fuze) and I did make my own connectors for hookup. Still original bulbs (4.5kK 35w) and ballasts. They are only a few cities away so I bought direct. There is "flare" over the cutoff but I've only been high-flashed once, out in the middle of nowhere on a two-lane road...by a Freightliner.
And there is a handy spot that the ballast slides in at the hood hinge.
Good luck and happy modding.

I got mine HID kit from VLEDs, they no longer sell the same HID kits , but I've been using mine with upgraded bulbs, for nearly 4 years, no issues. They have moved on to bigger and better things. If I ever have to change mine out I'd probably use their new kits, but they are pricey.

Thanks for all inputs so far, any of you know if 2011 has H11A or H11B bulb pattern. Wondering if I can get a combined kit for swapped low and high beam at the same time or do I need to get separate kit/bulb for high beam? If so, what do you recommend for LED driving lights?

The 2011 and up xBs used an H11 bulbs, but you need a bulb where the return wire ends up on the bottom when installed. DDM standard and Ultra H11 bulbs both work as does the new Morimoto XB35 H11 bulbs. I'm using the DDM Ultra H11 bulbs and they are VERY much brighter than the standard DDM H11 bulbs. I'm thinking of switching over to the Morimoto XB35 H11 bulbs though as they are of a MUCH better build quality. When I do that I'm gonna swap the DDM slim ballasts out for FastBrite F3 units.
As far as HID for high beams, its not worth it. Most people don't use their high beams that much other than to blink someone to get them to move out of their way. If you mostly just flash the high beams to get someone to move then your just gonna end out damaging the ballast and you won't get the full power. Remember, even with OEM ballasts, there is a little bit of warm up time to get a bulb up to full brightness and true color. Just get some Philips Xtreme Vision or some Philips 9011 bulbs.

I got the Kensun HIDs sold on Amazon. They arrived quickly in a nice case. They hooked up easily and work great. I've had them a few months now with no issue.
My old HIDs quit working after about 3 years but can't remember the name of them. THe ballast were blank too.
