Default 2014 xB Oil smell..

Took the car in for service boost last month, got an oil change, and that was it. Ever since then, not every time I smell oil, like it spilled on the engine and is burning off. I cannot seem to find a leak anywhere, my level is fine.

Anyplace these cars are notorious for leaking from that i should check?

Was it just a lazy tech that spilled something and didn't wipe it properly?

kind of making me nuts, thinking about calling for another appointment.

its not every day, just after long trips, and no visible leaks like I said.

The mechanic probably spilled oil. Just give it an engine wash.

On my dad's 13 xB he says it smells like oil after driving it to. Took it to tech and of course they didn't see any problems or smell anything.
Typical.

Oil probably spilled at the filler cap and puddled under the engine cover. I would pull the cover off and wash the engine there. I'm not sure where the cabin air intake is, but the oil prob stink for a long time.
My '13 xB sometimes stinks like engine coolant but no leaks.

The cabin air intake is along the black area where the wipers are. It's pretty much the same on all cars... except for (you fill in the blank)

The area right in front of the windscreen at the bottom is a relatively high pressure area when you are driving along, which is why you get air coming thru the vents even if you have the fan turned off.

So if that hood seal is not perfect (they never are) you will get a small amount of engine fumes in the car

I agree with the others. If you see no oil under the car or on that plastic cover below the oil filter, the spill is probably under the top plastic cover. You need a 10mm wrench for that if I remember right.
