Default Auto or Manual

Hello Guys!
For those that have experience with both! What would you buy a manual or automatic and if you can give some pros and cons for them I would really appriciate it. Thank you and be safe

If your driving style is "spirited", definitely get the stick since you'll have way more control of your engine's power. If you get a stick, install the TRD quick shift kit; it'll shorten your shift to right at 3 inches.

If your XB is your DD, get the auto. When you are stuck in traffic, clutching & clutching you will regret the manual

As far as performance, you can manual shift the XB, which I do, when my right foot gets angry. My XB will pull on any manual off the line

Nope! Only if the stick doesn't know how/where to shift.
And mine isn't quite stock either...

My 08 xB (manual) was a lot more fun to drive them my 15 xB(auto)

The manual transmission is MUCH better for control of the xB. In the winter you have a LOT more control over gearing to get the most out of any traction situation. The clutch has no feel to it. One long press without any feedback. After a year of driving it, i still couldn't hit it just perfect every time at a stop, and would find myself over-revving in first to go.....really annoying.

The Auto trans is there, it's sluggish, and the car feels underpowered, but if you're in a lot of stop and go traffic, it's a lot better solution as the clutch pedal in the Manual has ABSOLUTELY ZERO engagement feel to it.

I liked my SE-R with the cable actuated clutch. I could feel everything!

Only time I've regretted having a manual was my last trip to San Francisco. All those hills in traffic with a brand new TRD clutch were not fun. Wouldn't have minded at all with the stock clutch though, the pedal effort is pretty light stock.

Really(?)...

PreviousMinus,
Shame we're so geographically detached that we'd never be at the same light in our TOASTers,. But, regardless, I was fantasizing about ordering/installing a little more gittyup'n'go at imminent Black Friday steals since I just made my last XB payment.

My old sleeper 5.4L Lightnin' loves her frosty Whipple too.

I hate the automatic trans in my 2015, especially after the lowering springs and sway bars. The car is actual fun to take corners fast but then the auto has dead spot at about 3K in 2nd and using the slap stick does not help because the transmission shifts so slowly. I kick myself daily for getting an auto.
